We went a full month without publishing a Dev Log, but it was far from a quiet month. This is our biggest update yet, bringing another deep pass on combat and interface authenticity, new protections, new features, stability improvements, and important progress on future content.
The legacy client is officially retired
The old 32-bit Win32 client can no longer connect to our servers. The current client and server now require the same connection version, allowing us to move forward with improvements that were previously limited by legacy compatibility. Anyone still using an old installation must move to the current client.
A new layer of protection
We introduced a new anti-cheat layer that is currently being monitored and refined before stricter actions are enabled. It is designed to identify abnormal movement, position manipulation, known memory-editing tools, and specific forms of proxy abuse. Clear and well-known forms of cheating can be handled immediately, while newer or uncertain cases remain subject to careful investigation and action in waves.
A deeper pass on combat and interface authenticity
We reviewed many details against the original game, including skill interruption rules, damage and critical hit calculations, monster critical hits, weapon mastery requirements, healing threat, chained-skill timing, item use while moving, and cooldown calculations. Your HP display now reflects the damage actually received and no longer appears to reach zero while your character is still alive.
Chat messages now reach the correct tabs, interface elements and buff icons more closely follow the original layout, and several fullscreen, frame-rate, and character-window behaviors were corrected. Players can also choose whether turning while moving uses the original brief pivot or responds instantly.
Combat fixes based on player reports
We fixed a timing issue that could cause Storm followed by Circle of Punishment to be rejected when Storm was used while moving. The underlying correction now covers other skills with the same behavior instead of addressing only one combination. We also closed an exploit that allowed repeated dodges without consuming Stamina after canceling a skill.
Chairs and benches can now be used
Players can now sit on compatible chairs and benches, with randomized idle poses while seated. This is a new feature that was not available in the original game.
Discord Rich Presence
With Discord open, your profile can now show that you are playing RaiderZ Global, along with your level, main class, current map, and session duration. This feature is enabled by default.
Ranger remains in development
The client already contains part of the groundwork required by the Ranger, but the class has not been released. Its server-side talents, behavior, and combat systems are still being implemented and tested. There is no release date yet, and we will share more when the class is ready for players.
Halloween content and decorations were also added during this period. Early groundwork for future Christmas content exists internally, but it is not active in the game.
Launcher reliability
The launcher can now use a secondary download source if the main one is unavailable, provides clearer connection diagnostics, handles more network configurations, and no longer prevents the game from opening when the website is temporarily unavailable.
Compatibility and stability
Older graphics cards with DirectX 10.1 support now receive an appropriate compatibility mode. Unsupported hardware displays a clear message instead of closing silently. We also fixed crashes involving cutscenes, guard animations, and an older cloth-rendering path, reduced frame pacing stutters, and corrected unnecessary rendering caused by tree shadows.
Players who reconnect are now returned to the trial or instance they were previously in, and reconnection no longer stalls when the server is still finishing the previous session.
Login and account security
Account credentials are no longer written to server logs during login. We also corrected malformed connection cases that could disrupt the login service and strengthened the shared network layer so invalid data is safely rejected.
Additional fixes
Random box descriptions now show their actual contents, voice lines work again during character creation and selection, the mini HP bar no longer flickers, buff values use the correct colors, transparent interface images render correctly, and text wrapping is closer to the original client.
The nearest Soulstone revival option, the World tab on the map, extended inventory sorting cooldown, and the window for inspecting another player's equipment were also corrected.
Still in development
Work continues on the Ranger, Barren Island as a new starting zone, a rowboat activity, and a revised Broken Mast campaign. These features are not available to players yet and will remain in testing until they are ready.
Behind the scenes
Our internal level editor gained better docking, selection, and object-editing tools, along with new controls for lighting, water, sky, and weather. These improvements will make future environments and zones faster and more precise to build.
What's next
This Dev Log brings the project up to date after an especially active month. We will continue sharing progress in batches so players can follow the evolution of RaiderZ Global without needing to search through technical development records.
