Combat and weapons
Elemental weapon enchantments now apply to damage caused by buffs and damage over time effects, rather than affecting only direct attacks. Guard can now cancel the first three basic staff attacks, and the bow works as a complete weapon with drawing, sheathing, a melee combo, Guard, and Dodge. Skill combos once again follow their intended timing windows, and the on-screen prompt that indicates when to chain the next attack has been restored. A rejected weapon switch also no longer leaves the character stuck during the transition.
A deep pass on animation
We corrected a broad group of animation problems. Weapons no longer appear twice during emotes, dodge rolls follow the camera direction instead of the direction the character model is facing, and the hand to back weapon transition now plays correctly when drawing or sheathing while running. Blade Dance and Rising Dragon work again after their conversion into buff-based talents, two animation blending rules that disrupted certain one shot actions have been corrected, and mount skills now animate and move properly. We also added a new diagnostic graph to help investigate future stuttering reports.
Cosmetic effects and rendering
Cosmetic weapon and shield effects animate again and remain attached to the equipment they belong to instead of being left behind on the ground. Effect meshes can also distort the surrounding scene correctly, using the strength designed for each effect rather than an exaggerated default value.
Video and interface overhaul
Video playback has been rebuilt using modern decoding for skill previews and the introductory cinematic. Item previews now rotate in the correct direction on both axes, the quest tracker can be collapsed and displays completion correctly, and the interface for inspecting another player’s equipment works again. The UI font size option now applies correctly, and characters can be rotated on the character selection screen.
Maps, tooltips, inventory, and text
The world map now displays the correct recommended level for each zone and includes region labels that were previously missing. Elemental enchantment damage is shown in item tooltips, and a zone that lacked its map image has been corrected. Item sorting now merges partial stacks correctly, and information from the two skill sets no longer carries from one build into the other. The in-game Guidebook, which had remained blank since the graphics overhaul, is available again, and the tutorial popup text has also been restored.
What's next
This entry brings the Development Log up to date with the state of Client Alpha on August 1, 2026. Weapons behave more completely, combat timing is returning, visual effects are becoming faithful again, and interface systems are being restored one by one. Development will continue in measured batches, supported by testing and clear evidence, as we build a client that can be understood, maintained, and improved for the future of RaiderZ Global.
